Cherishing Sky Pin
Sky Pins are made of metal. While metal tarnishes naturally over time, exposure to liquids, sweat, perfume, lotion, sunlight, and other chemicals can cause it to tarnish faster. When you are not using your Sky Pin, we recommend storing it in an airtight bag in a dry place to avoid moisture, sunlight, and chemical exposure.
Below are some ways to care for the Sky Pin at home:
To remove any accumulated dirt, oils, and pollutants, pour a small amount of mild (pH neutral) liquid detergent into warm water. Use a soft toothbrush to gently rub the surface of your pin. Once it's clean, rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry with a cloth.
To remove built-up tarnish, mix a teaspoon of salt, half a cup of vinegar, and a small amount of flour to create a smooth paste. Apply this mixture to your pin and leave it for 15 minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub it off under warm running water before pat dry with a cloth.
To remove dullness and restore shine, apply some lemon juice onto a soft cloth or directly onto your pin. Lemon juice contain acids that can clean tarnish off metal. Leave it for 2-3 minutes before using a soft toothbrush to rub the surface. Rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry with a cloth.
